Watch Patrick & Kendall's shoe game on TikTok!
Planning a wedding in the Tri-Cities means balancing elegance with an unforgettable party atmosphere. At Stone Ridge Estates, we’ve seen countless couples say "I do" in our beautiful gardens and then head into our rustic reception barn to celebrate the night away.
If you’re looking for a way to break the ice during your reception and get your guests laughing, there is one tradition that never fails: The Wedding Shoe Game.
Whether you're hosting an intimate gathering or a larger celebration (we accommodate up to 200 guests!), this game is a fantastic way to share your personality as a couple. Here is everything you need to know about playing the shoe game at our Pasco, WA wedding venue.
What is the Wedding Shoe Game?
The Wedding Shoe Game is a live "newlywed" trivia challenge. It’s simple, interactive, and provides a perfect transition from dinner to dancing.
The Setup:
- The Chairs: Place two chairs back-to-back in the center of the dance floor under the elegant chandeliers of our reception barn. This ensures you can’t see each other’s answers!
- The Shoes: Both partners take off their shoes. You’ll trade one shoe with each other so that you are both holding one of your own and one of your partner’s.
- The MC: Usually, your DJ or a member of the wedding party acts as the host, reading a series of "Who" questions.

How to Play
When a question is asked (e.g., "Who is the better driver?"), you raise the shoe of the person you think fits the description. If it’s you, raise your shoe. If it’s your partner, raise theirs.
The magic happens when the answers don't match—or when you both instantly point to the same person for a "messy" habit! It’s a moment of pure, unfiltered joy that makes for some of the best unforgettable memories and photos of the night.
Sample Questions for Your Stone Ridge Wedding
To keep the energy high, we recommend a mix of sweet, funny, and lifestyle questions. Here are a few favorites:
- Who made the first move?
- Who is more likely to get lost even with a GPS?
- Who spent more time getting ready in the bridal suite today?
- Who is the better cook?
- Who is more likely to be the "responsible" one?
- Who said "I love you" first?
- Who is the better dancer? (A great way to lead into opening the dance floor!)
Why It Works at Stone Ridge Estates
Our rustic barn is designed for flow and fun. With its spacious layout and stunning indoor-outdoor flexibility, there’s plenty of room for all your guests to have a front-row seat to the laughter.
Plus, if you’re using our 30-5 Minute Rule to keep your timeline stress-free, the shoe game is the perfect "5-minute buffer" activity to keep guests entertained while the catering team clears tables or the DJ resets for the party.
Make Your Wedding Unforgettable
From the moment you arrive at our scenic outdoor spaces to the final dance in the barn, our goal at Stone Ridge Estates is to make your wedding dreams a reality. We love seeing our couples let loose and enjoy themselves!
